Blackdyke Farm Riding & Competition Centre Winter Indoor Arena Eventing Series 2019/2020

There are 5 fixtures in the Series, commencing Sun 24th Nov 2019 followed by fixtures on Sun 22nd Dec 2019 (Xmas Special),  Sun 26th Jan 2020,  Sun 23rd Feb 2020 and a Finale on Sun 22nd March 2020.

Competitors achieving 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the 65-70cm, 80cm and 90cm Classes will be invited to attend a ‘Finale at Frenchfield’ on Sunday 10th May.   This will be a single size course with options and alternatives including some technical elements, brush fences, all traversing the wonderful undulating terrain, with the feature water fence and invitees will be given marks for style and composure and all will be judged by a BE Coach.  The event will include a Pizza & Prosecco social after the competition. We will be joined by the BD Quest competitors.  This will be a fun invitation event.

Fun indoor mixed round of cross country type obstacles combined with show jumps numbering up to 18 fences jumped at around 300-350 mpm.  These are relaxed competitions in a safe environment organised with exact start times and running on the fourth Sunday every month from November to March.  The courses remain largely the same across the classes but the individual obstacles may change and incease in technical difficulty – the 65-70cm class is very much an introduction to Arena Eventing.

Rules 2019/20

Please can you be aware of the following Rules & Guidelines:

  • All riders MUST wear appropriate body protectors and skull caps per British Eventing Rules 2019/2020
  • Please ‘check in’ to the collecting ring steward so that we know you are warming up & ready to compete
  • Please arrive with sufficient time to warm up and compete on time.  We do try to run to time.
  • Please be respectful to others warming up.  Try and all go in the same direction and limit the number of ponies/horses to a sensible number.
  • The Judges decision is Final.
  • Faults are given as per BE Show Jumping and Cross Country
  • Each class is judged to an Optimum Time set at the start of the class based on approx 325mpm Show Jumping and from 435 to 475 Cross Country rising as the classes progress
  • The winner is the combination on or closest to the optimum time, where priorty is given to riders under the set time.

Individual Champion awarded over the 5 fixture series based on points system relating to placings

Inter Schools Champion with min 3 team members and max 7 members, the best 3 scores per fixture to count

Cancellation, Abandonment & Refunds

In the event of  cancellation for reasons not associated with the weather and access and safety at the venue, ALL entry fees will be refunded less a 10% admin fee.  Entries may however be transfered to another date remaining within the season and for the same competition type at no additional charge.

In the event of abandonment of an event where weather conditions were the cause of the abandonment. (usually between 1 day prior to the fixture date OR during the day of competition) NO REFUND of entry fees will be made.  Entries may however be transfered once to another date remaining within the season and for the same competition type at no additional charge.

Qualifications & Eligibility

When entering all competitors must be satisfied they and their horse/pony are competent to jump the type and heights of the fences to be included in the class.  Where a competitor enters a class knowingly well below the previously recorded capabilites and with recent success at higher levels they will be moved up a class or placed as a non competitive Hors Concours entry.  The Organisers reserve the right to disallow an entry into any particular class for either over qualification or lack of experience.
