The portables are on the move, permanent fences are being checked, ground works completed and all the organisation needed to make a horse trials run is in full swing. There are so many roles from Stewarding to Scoring it takes some 120 willing people each day to keep the show on the road and we have been so pleased with the take up of the Ride For Free scheme we look set to enjoy the first event in the Cumbria Horse Trials series in less than 2 weeks. Generously supported once again by AW Jenkinson Forest Products the cross country course will feature a revised ditch crossing, upgraded water fence and some new questions for the 400 or so competitors. Our regular trade stands will be on-site with Wood Fired Pizzas and Coffee Bug sitting alongside Top Stocks and Grossick Photography and they will be joined this year by Bloomfields Horseboxes and Equine Products UK. BE100 top placed riders (over 18) will enjoy winning a very special gift from Santa Rita Wines who join us this year as new sponsors and will take title to the BE100 Cumbria Series Champion leader board which runs throughout the year and along with our other series awards will be presented at The Mane Event Awards Ball in late October. Horslyx, part of the Carrs Group of companies are kindly providing the top prize in the BE90 sections horses with some of their favourite feed lick balancers. Entries remain open with around 60 places to fill over the next few days.
