What should you expect at this event?
Our aim being to make the event equally welcoming and enjoyable for everyone even for a ‘behind closed doors’ fixture. British Eventing have provided a guide for Members specific to the return to eventing
On the day of competition, and on arrival at the venue, horse box drivers will be asked to confirm who is attending and they must display their self-printed competitor number(s) and will then be directed to park with appropriate distancing between vehicles. Owners arriving separately must have their Membership Card available and will be allowed one other family member to accompany them. Apart from our similarly identifiable Volunteers, Officials and Contractors, no other persons will be allowed onto the event site. There is no general public admittance.
The dressage phase will be stewarded to ensure riders enter the correct arenas with some sections being judged at this event without a writer. The Show Jumping will have strict social distancing stewarding to ensure limited numbers are within the collecting ring. We will provide stewards to raise and lower the practice fences. No coaches, trainers or connections should enter the arenas. Competitors will be asked to keep their distance at all times even when outside the arena and not to overly congregate with their connections. The cross country will be similarly and courteously stewarded.
Given the requirements to ensure our officials and judges are socially distanced, there will be limited commentary and the scoring will be run digitally (with a manual back-up) direct to www.eventingscores.co.uk. There will be no prize presentations for this fixture.
There will however be Alf’s Woodfired Pizzas, Saddleback’s Coffee & Cakes, Todd’s Saddlery and AMZ Saddles. Grossick Photography and An Eventful Life Videos will be taking images, and these will be available post event from their respective websites.
You should expect the usual professionally organised and well-presented event run within the rules of British Eventing. We are providing additional medical services to ensure the safe provision of care for everyone especially where closer contact may be required, and we hope this will allow all the disciplines to keep running throughout the event. All our volunteers will be provided with instructions and directions and we remain immensely grateful to them for all their continuing support.
