Warwick Hall X Olympians and locals successes

It may have been a rush to make Warwick Hall X happen in just 2 weeks but the response from volunteers, officials, contractors and the competing Members was remarkable and the event ran smoothly in fabulous weather conditions over both days.

Olympians Ian Stark, Andrew Hoy and Nicola Wilson all arrived to enjoy the near perfect ground conditions across the parkland with Nicola and Andrew coming 1st and 2nd respectively in BE90 Open Section S.  Ian had a successful run with two horses coming 2nd in Novice Section K on Chatsworth Diamond and 5th in Novice Section J.

Local riders enjoyed the company of the greats of the sport with Anna Shay from Penrith winning BE80 Section Y on her ride CATOKIA at her first BE Affiliated event.

Other notable local placings came from Emma Little of Carlisle on her consistent Alecon winning BE90 Section L, Elizabeth Ostle from Gretna coming 2nd on Glaramara Freya in BE90 Sec M and Clare Chappelhow winning BE90 Section O.  Francesca Weymouth came 3rd in BE100 Open Section D in the sunshine on Satruday morning.

Competitors travelled from across the region and especially from Scotand where competion is currently suspended, to tackle the galloping courses at Warwick Hall which had seen its first event of the season in late July.

A further event is scheduled and taking entries for 12/13 Sept.
